What are the main human rights documents?

There are certain national and international human rights documents that could be important for you.

Croatia

In Croatia, human rights have been included in the highest national act – our constitution,  Ustav Republike Hrvatske. The third section of the Constitution is dedicated to human rights, covering general provisions about our rights, individual and political rights and freedoms, as well as our economic, social and cultural rights. There are also many laws which are not human rights documents themselves, but which protect different aspects of human rights.

In addition to the rights guaranteed by the Ustav Republike Hrvatske, the fundamental rights of a child are guaranteed by the Family Act.

There are also many other laws which are not human rights documents in themselves, but which protect different aspects of human rights.

example The Criminal Procedure Law contains provisions guaranteeing human rights during a criminal trial. The laws on media regulate the freedom of expression of the media.

European & International
